Why Boudicca?

May 19, 2012 by Vicki

Boudicca Books will explore books by women authors, for women, and about women (or at least two out of three.) According to Wikipedia, Boudicca was a Queen who led her people against the Romans in 60 AD. Romans, at the time, were the absolute power over much of the known world. Romans regarded Boudicca as not worthy of sovereignty because she was a woman. She fought back, and proved, how strong, in mind and body, woman can be.

In this blog, I want to explore books that challenge the accepted status quo for women. I have read books that changed my perspective on who and what I actually could be. Who I wanted to be. I will share my experiences of these books with you. I hope, and encourage you to participate in these explorations. Tell us about your experience of the book I have discussed. Recommend books that changed your perspective. Let us take Boudicca as our role model, and challenge whatever holds us back.
