My Action Plan

2

November 30, 2012 by Vicki

DSCF0930        After reading The Pursuit of Happiness, I decided to make an action plan for myself to change the aspects of my life that I was not happy about. I made a list of resolutions, goals and plans to detail my new action plan. I am finding, however, that I am struggling with quite a few aspects of my action plan. Changing habits of a lifetime is really hard to do. I decided that I would share my progress with my Action plan as part of the realities of being a woman in today’s society. I believe, from talking with others, that the areas that I am struggling with are common sources of difficulty for women.

My Resolution form the overall goal for what I believe I need to change in my life. My Goals are date-specific achievements that I want to achieve. My plans are how I am going to reach my goals by that specific date. I admit there is some overlap but I don’t believe that that is surprising.

Resolutions

  1. Be Vicki
    1. in other words, be myself
  2. Be Happy
  3. Just Get Up and Dance
    1. I have a tendency to stay in my head and that depresses me. If I get up and start moving to music then I cheer up and see things more clearly.
  4. Let Go of the Past
  5. Be Honest (even when it hurts)
  6. Make my own decisions
  7. Find and Pursue my own Interests
  8. Cultivate Family and Friends
  9. Don’t Take S**t from Anybody
  10. Don’t Drift
    1. Fantasize instead of Living
  11. Be More Creative
  12. Cut all activities that I do not enjoy

Goals – To Be Accomplished by January 1, 2013

  1. Lose 30 lbs  by Christmas
    1.  so far, I have lost twenty pounds
  2. Search for and Find a Job
  3. Research what I am passionate about
  4. Make bi-weekly posts on all three of my blogs
    1. Boudicabooks, Dreammirrors and Living on the Ark
  5. Write 1 Hubpage a week
  6. Maintain and Cultivate relationships
  7. Wake up by 8am during the week

Plans – Until January 1, 2013

  1. Walk the Lollipop twice daily
    1. The Lollipop is the route from my apartment around the park and back again
  2. Create and Maintain a Healthy Diet
    1. Cut down carbs, Increase fruits and vegetables
    2. Cut out non-diet pop
  3. Keep a Food Diary
  4. Research Wicca
  5. Research Mythology
  6. Research Classical Music
  7. Find A Job
  8. Write one Hubpage a week
  9. Make bi-weekly posts on all three of my blogs

This is the Action plan that I created to regain control over my life. It shares some common elements with The Happiness Project but overall, it is my creation. What resolutions, goals, and plans do you need to put into place to regain or maintain control over your life? What habits or routines would you like to change? What could you do everyday to make YOU happier?

This is great. Good for you. Nothing is better than a list to clarify things. Good luck.
